Russell Recchion is an American realist known for his sensitive portraits, lyrical landscapes, and rugged Western paintings. His work reveals his personal belief in the beauty of life and his profound pleasure in the painterly representation of light. This book of Collected Works spans forty years of painting from his student days at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia to his latest work from his studio in Tucson, Arizona. His paintings hang at the Franklin Institute, Eli Lilly & Co, University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, University of Arizona, Indiana University, the Union League of Philadelphia, and many collections across the United States and Europe. He has painted professionally for more than thirty years.This beautiful coffee-table book has a cloth hardcover with foil stamping, 132 pages and eighty-two full-color reproductions with brief descriptions of each painting and the stories that inspired them. Russell paints his lively and impressionistic landscapes on location, in plein air, in the US and Europe. Many of his favorite scenes are represented here: the coast of Spain, Hawaiian surf, the Sonoran desert of Arizona, Pennsylvania farmland, the hills of Florence, and corridors and canals of Venice, Italy.
